The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. – Psalms 34:17 NIV

The righteous are taken under the special protection of the Lord, yet they have their share of crosses in this world, and there are those that hate them. Both from the mercy of Heaven, and the malice of hell, the afflictions of the righteous must be many. But whatever troubles befal them, shall not hurt their souls, for God keeps them from sinning in troubles. [MHCC]

How to use this Promise when we Intercede?

We always face difficulties in intercession albeit our own or the person for whom we intercede. It is also very common to get emotionally involved in the situation of intercession: The problems of the other person then become our problems. Is that right? The Lord said that whatever the righteous cry out, He hears them and will delivers them from their troubles – albeit their own or the troubles from the person for whom we intercede.
